We have a proud history of agricultural exports and despite diversification in recent decades, agriculture in all of its forms still represents about 12% of New Zealand’s GDP.

Exports include dairy, meat and wood, and, increasingly, agricultural know-how. China has become an increasingly important export destination in recent decades but North America and other export destinations remain important.

The New Zealand agricultural sector is highly dependent on overseas demand and fluctuations in commodity prices impact us directly, particularly in dairy.

At Ava Tech, we recognise that automated processes, and novel ways of using technology to manage inventories are important opportunities for technology to add value to agriculture.
